Hello November

Happy November to all. We appear to have survived Halloween relatively unscathed. There was no toilet paper in the bushes out front, no eggs thrown at the house and not a single flaming bag of dog crap was left on the doorstep. I think that speaks volumes to my improving relationship with the neighbourhood kids.

Sean stayed home again this year to dole out candy at the door and frighten the wee ones. I might add that he wasn't wearing a costume. I took advantage of this and posed for a few photos in Sean's leprechaun hat and bow tie (see scary photos below).

The custome may be used again next St. Patrick's Day. For good luck. Speaking of luck..

(nice segue, heh) ...lots of luck to all that have started the NaNoWriMo insanity for this year. I decided some time ago that I just wasn't brave enough to try again this year. Last year I had an idea but it wasn't really plotted out. Between the working hours and the NaNo business I didn't see much of my family for the month and barely scraped through at the end. I did learn a few things, though, and would highly encourage anyone with a storyline in mind to jump to it and get writing. It's only day 2 of 30, after all.

What? No TP trees? What about soaped up windows? You must have given out extra good candy this year.

That last picture there needs to be your profile picture. Priceless!

Ah, the ol' flaming dog crap. Brings tears to me eyes...(because of the smell, not nostalgia)

The third picture has a very "would you hire this man" theme to it :)

Oh, you are too funny. And you're watching tv with that thing on? Is this typical tv-watching attire for you, Mr. Fez?

I'm thinking a different hat for every night of the week?

I'm recommending therapy 3X/week to start...

Laurita- I think the fine candy from Costco and Walmart staved off attack this year. I think quantity works better for the kids than quality.

Aaron- They know not to start the war with me...what, with a 90lb greyhound I've got an unlimited supply of dog poop...

Debbie- What. Me? Up to something?

Erin- Thanks. I'm already thinking about what to wear next halloween.

Karen- RIP

Wendy- "it aint easy being green"...that's funny. We just started our recycling program here in St. John's last week...

It's always fine having another Canadian in the neighbourhood. Most of my friends here at Land's Edge are Americans or Brits (and a smattering of Aussies and Europeans...)

Nat- I hear ya, sister. NaNo is rewarding but does suck the life out of you for a long time.

Cathy- I hope that I didn't cause you or Dave any unneccessary injury from snortage.

Danielle- That's funny! Looking at the photo now, I wouldn't hire me either. Sort of a Cheshire Cat meets Hannibal Lecture thing going on.

Kathryn- I try not to confine myself to only the fez and velvet smoking jacket (didn't you know that ALL CANADIANS dress like this?). Variety is the 'spice of life' and all of that. Will check to see if benefit package will cover the therapy...

I always knew you were a cheeky leprechaun.

The hat is great, flaming dog poop is interesting, does it burn like Fritos..... :}

I will second Cate's cheeky leprechaun statement. It's you...even better than the fez.

NOW that is frightening!

Cate- It appears that I have revealed my true colours.

Joni- I think it depends on its moisture content...people burn Fritos?

Laura- The headgear has been offically added to my repetoire.

Michael- That explains why no children came to our door (in the upside, I did have a lot of chocolate bars left over).
