Q and A and Stuff

Just a couple of little items to throw out there this morning...
  • Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall arrived in St. John's Monday afternoon to begin their cross-Canada tour. Sadly, I missed the official welcome as I was playing basketball with the geezers. And my invite to dine with them must have gotten lost in the mail.

  • NaNo is going well. I've fallen behind a bit as I haven't met my daily quota I set for myself on weekdays. I'm sure that I'll have some catching up to do this weekend. With the few words from this morning, I'm at 4265 words. It's sure slow going at the start as most of it has been conversation setting things up. I'll be glad when it moves along and 'stuff' happens.

  • I'd like to officially announce that I will be posting the Q & A with author Kelley Armstrong this Saturday morning (November 7) for those who want to read her insights. For those new to my blog, I posted here requesting questions from my readers to send on to Kelley, author of more than a dozen books of horror, YA urban fantasy and mystery.

Frostbitten, the 10th book in her Women of the Otherworld series is now available. Please invite others who may be interested to drop in Saturday and hear from Ms. Armstrong.

Ah, excellent! I was wondering when the Q&A was going to be posted - been looking forward to this.

I have some cheerleading going on over at musings to inspire your NaNo - the picture alone should drive you back to the keyboard...

Hey, 4,265 is nothing to sneeze at. Keep grinding out those words, right?

That's a good wordcount!

Fantastic on all counts. Well except Prince Charles, he really should have realised that November is an inconvenient month for writers.

I'm sorry to report Prince Charles and his wife haven't responded to my invitation to tea when they're in Vancouver to check out the Olympic village. Perhaps my invitation got lost just like yours.

The first few chapters are always a pain in the butt. It gets fun later : )

As a N.E Yankee, I have a hard time wrapping my head around monarchs. And if my taxes paid their bills it would be pitchfork time.

Ironically, I'm quite the Anglophile when it come to other things. I assume Canadians find the royal family quaint, better than boorish NE Yanks. :-)

Good luck NaNoing.

BT-Hope you enjoy the Q & A. That was one scary bloke on your site. The don't dress like that for cheerleading at cricket, do they?

Aaron-I'm working hard not to be distracted from my mission...what's that noise outside...must investigate...

KC- Thanks!

Cate-Perhaps the writers of England should band together to make Prince Charles aware of that.

Elspeth-I'm thinking that if you were still near the Empress Hotel they would have been there with bells on.

Nat-I'll hold you to that!

Becca-I don't think that quaint is the word. Opinions depend on region and age bracket. Newfoundland was the last to join confederation with Canada in 1949 and the royals still have a strong following here.

Don't you just hate it when the post office loses important mail? That invitation with undoubtedly arrive next week. I suggest you reduce the post carrier's Christmas tip this year.

You crazy Commonwealth kids! We had the Queen here in Virginia a few years go though, since Jamestown is 500. She's a complete badass.

Looking forward to the Q&A
