Observations on the Past Few Days

  1. Immediately after my last post about the bad zombie stripper movie I recently watched, my follower count dropped by one...I'm not sure exactly who that was but if I offended you in any way I'm sorry. Remember people...my posts aren't always educational.
  2. Remember a couple of posts back where I listed the 10 things that made me happy? I forgot to list "Finding forgotten money in my gym bag." Just found $30.35 woo hoo!
  3. The Juno Awards were just held this weekend in St. John's...for those American, Brits, Australian and Serbians in the crowd those are the Canadian equivalent to the American Grammy Awards). Sadly, I did not attend or even watch any events. I am not really up on current Canadian music and am helplessly lost in the world of 70's classic rock. The folks flying into town were hampered by the fog that has hung over the city for day. Flying out, they were hampered by the impending ash from last Thursday's volcanic eruption in Iceland. You can link to the CBC news story here. Who said nothing ever happens at Land's Edge...
  4. Have been working diligently on a flash story that I submitted yesterday to Laurita Miller's contest at Brain Droppings. Am now wracking my brains for something with a Canadian flair for Michael J. Solenders upcoming 'All-Canadian' week at his blog Not From Here, Are You? Regardless of what country you are from, if you have a 'Canadiana' story idea pleeeease pass it along!
  5. Working on selecting a few Caribbean photos from our recent holiday to post both here and on my Facebook page. I will try to keep the nudity to a minimum.
  6. Am also working on a 'special' post that I'd like to finish up in the next week or 10 days. Am waiting on the little bas--sorry, the 'special guest' to return my phone calls.
  7. I have noticed the past couple of weeks that I've hit a sort of 'critical mass' in the number of blogs I regularly read and comment on. I am now somewhat saturated with posts listed on the blogger dashboard and I can't keep up with reading all that is there. It may have something to do with the fact that some people (you know who you are) post multiple times in a day. If I haven't been commenting on your blog recently it's not because I don't want to, it's more because I've only got 3 or 4 small windows of time each day and sometimes the postings of others become outdated before I can get to them. To remedy this, I am planning on having my 14 year old read your blogs every day and comment on my behalf. So if you find future comments from me a bit juvenile, rambling or heavily laden with sexual talk or angst...it's the boy talking ;)

Thank God you don't post educational stuff everyday - phew, who needs that intellectual junk anyhow! :)
I’ll be looking for your stories coming out on Laurita and MJS's blog...I can't keep up either; I just try to hit everyone every once in awhile—we all lose a follower every now and then, but there will be more.

Fair warning: Exposing a 14-year-old to my blog probably counts as contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Oh Alan. Nuthin' wrong with 70's classic rock. Bring it on! The louder the better!

I was gonna say, "excuses, excuses" re: not posting on blogs...but the mother in me implores you not to send your son to Crooked Tales. Heck--I wouldn't let my boys go there. Hmm...cause for reflection? Nah.

I look forward to seeing what the "Great White Canadian" comes up with for the "All-Canadian" week. ;D

Oh! I almost forgot. I lost a follower after one of my more "brazen" tales. I felt bad, but honestly, I'm not gonna change who I am to please other people. So don't sweat it. You still have Blogger Buddies, lol.

Sucks you lost a follower Alan. Seems as though you have been quite busy. It's hard to keep up with everyone's blogs. And while we love your comments everyone is entitled to have a life.

Good luck in finding a story for the Not from here...blog.

And congrats on finding the extra loot. Always a bonus.

I love extra money. The halls are full of it around here. I find at least 20 cents a day...in a thousand years, I can retire.

Ok, this psychic link thing is getting freaky. I JUST emailed you a blog link and said it was "something else to help you waste your time"....and now here you are ...saying you read too many people already....

DO NOT have your son comment at my place. I felt bad enough the other day when a kid who looks about 14 on twitter retweeted "Banked" ....and said it was "hot" ohmygosh rofl...

Can't wait to see your Ocean story at Laurita's place.
:0)

Keeping up with blogs is a full time job. It's near impossible to hit every new update. Do not fret.

I was at the Junos on Sunday and they were incredible. April Wine was inducted into the Hall of Fame so there's your 70's rock. ;)

I'll be watching for your piece at the NOT.

Wait, wait, wait, you mean that your comments so far over at our blogs weren't a "bit juvenile, rambling or heavily laden with sexual talk or angst"??? :PPPPPPPPP

What Nat said might apply to my blog too on certain days. It's best to be upfront about this, I figure.

Don't spare us the nudity! We love it! (See above.)

Laurita, you were at the Junos?
How cool are YOU?
Alan, yah that Canadian thing... I don't know, either. I was thinking of plagiarizing the coffee shop scene from Air Farce but then thought that was cheating. I can just hear you now, agreeing with me: "you got that right, you betcha, tell me about it, oh yeah, oh yeah."
Looking forward to the boy's comments. I think I'm going to post something juicy just for him.

Erin- Yep, thank God for brainless fun! I'm feeling the pressure now to get something down on paper for Mr. Solender.

Nat- Point taken. We wouldn't want the boy to stumble across your wonderful story "Relentless Sodomy". He would be traumatized for life...

Kat- Your tales are so brazen, I'm surprised that there's anyone left in the room...that's because your erotic stories work their magic so well they are all off for cold showers! As noted to Natalie, you may be correct in the boy visiting your blog...

Thanks, Hinny. I'm glad I discovered your blog. I'm hoping for divine inspiration for an appropriate NOT story.

Aaron "Strange Publications" Polson- Perhaps the hall money and the income from writing combined will shorten the retirement wait to about 600 years...

Karen- Sad to hear that you have stooped to contributing to the delinquency of minors. I wish I could have accessed that stuff when I was 14 [*sighs*] I shall keep the boy away from your blog (I shall add you to the list of other perveyors of filth who seem to frequent my blog).

Michael- I shall get to that forthwith, sir! (it's kinda cool that you speak Canadian, eh?)

Anton- He, he, he...you know me too well.

Laurita- Glad to hear the Junos went well. Were you down on the craziness of Greorge Street afterwards? Now I'm really feeling the pressure to produce something for the NOT...

Dez- I think that you are probably right about that!

Katey- Har! I get it..."upfront". Your blog lacks the risquee videos of Nat's, but uses some cool language (though the boy has started to use some interesting language of his own these days).

Cathy- I would have went to the Junos (like Laurita) but spent all my money on tacky souvenirs while on holiday. I hear ya on the Canadain story thing. Perhaps we should look over old "Kids in the Hall" or "SCTV" episodes for inspiration (you bring the popcorn and brown stubby bottles of beer). I am most definately keeping the boy away from your blog...

I'm with you. My google reader gets so full that sometimes I just marked everything as 'read' and start all over. I can't keep up with all the posts.

What's wrong with bad zombie strippers? :)
